Waking up to sunshine is such a joy! It may be cool outside but the sun always brings out the best in me and the rest of my world. I wake up refreshed and ready to tackle anything that comes my way.
I have found that I have lists and lists of things to do that still sit in my head. For some reason they never seem to hit the page where I can check them off. I know from my business experience that I need to put these items in a place where they stare me in the face until they are completed. Instead, I simply pile the papers or the books in a stack and simply stare at them as “I have to get to these today” (and we all know that procrastination sets in rapidly if something else catches our attention).
My list includes getting my QuickBooks up-to-date, writing several articles for posting, doing this blog (this is easy as it is like brushing my teeth in the morning, it is now a habit), putting my activities plan in place (as I talked about in my last WebEx seminar) for the New Year and generally filling my calendar with activities and follow-ups and finally I want to do another French lesson. This is my indulgence to get back to speaking French and thank goodness that is my husband’s mother tongue and he helps me with the pronunciations.
Let’s just see how the day will progress.
I wonder why people do not do as they say they will? Is it they do not want to say NO to your face in case they hurt your feelings or you will no longer consider them a friend? In my opinion it is not taking responsibility for your own actions. I know for myself I will say “Not now”. In reality that opens up the door for further communication for something I do not want. I would be better off to say NO. I have a friend that is always promising to do things for me and has yet to deliver.
It always seems that I end up doing all the work with no results. I woke up this morning with the notion that I must certainly take ownership of the process. I should be the one saying – here is the opportunity, here are the facts, are you interested? If the answer is YES then here is what YOU have to do and here is what I will DO for you. Then hold everyone to their deliverable! Easier said than done!
I am currently reading a book that mentioned getting a mentor. Although I agree with that statement, I think you need to have a mentor that will actually help you achieve your goals. In other words, write down a list of people you think would be good mentors and then target that list to get one of those people to help you. A mentor is important when you lack expertise in certain areas of business. In the MLM industry everyone can be a success but a really big success usually has more business experience and knows how to put it together.
Well I guess there is always some confusion when you run your own business. Today a speaker I had booked for January 20th had put our event down for the wrong date and therefore was double-booked. Thank goodness I was first to book him and had a confirmation. The right thing to do was to go with the first person you booked with and move the other event out a week or two. As I believe in the honest and truthful nature of people, I knew that this would be the correct choice!
If you are around on January 20th – Jim Britt will be speaking at the Dublin Hyatt (right near the movie theatres at Hacienda and Dublin Blvd). This is an event not to be missed. Jim is the best! You can preregister at the http://www.WealthAndHealthNetwork.com
I hope to see you there!
