Here it is the day with two trade shows. Thank goodness I was able to borrow a banner for one of them! I had my husband look after the big trade show in San Jose while I did the smaller one in Pleasanton. It seems that the one I attended had a number of women interested in the anti-aging products and there should be half a dozen become preferred customers for the salon.
My husband on the other hand brought home a dozen cards which I will follow up with tomorrow and the beginning of next week. He came home complaining about the show and the uselessness of it because people did not come near his booth. I think there were likely some but not as many as there could have been. I am not sure if trade shows are ideal yet. If I sign up 1 person, then it is worth while!
I also got on the weekly call and talked about what I could do at a trade show. The best thing was to show the video (we forgot to bring the speakers so no one could hear it) and keep showing it. I should also be asking for cards so that we could connect with them again to give then the website to view it away from the crowd. It seems that this product needs to be introduced differently.
Another great learning moment was how to conduct home parties. You are to call them In Home Business Introduction Events or Private Business Receptions. The point is to talk about why you got involved with the company, second to show the video for a detailed explanation on the product and third to give testimonials of people using the products today. Finally is to talk about the trends in the industry. I am definitely going to do some receptions to really get this business moving.
Right now I am very tired from working all day and then doing the trade shows – takes time to promote products that are relatively unknown. I am also contemplating going to Sacramento tomorrow for the evening announcement of the new compensation plan. Sounds exciting and it may offer more the hair salons with their preferred customer base.
