Monday again, my stitches from my minor surgery last week are finally started to take hold and heal. I am happy to have that part of my life over and move on to further enjoyment. I did some more reading early this morning in the Chris Howard book. Great book as it provides me with a lot of fuel for thought as to making my business a success.
He is now teaching me how to weave both the negative and positive aspects of my life into a story that will spur me forward to the future. In other words, I had the chance to write about how the negative impacted my life through lessons learned so that it lead to the positive side. I, being the ever optimist and ever positive person (well learned from my mother – one of the kindest people that ever lived) had a difficult time looking at the negatives that have occurred in my life.
We were to spend ten minutes writing our story into the future using these events – not a problem, I wrote for 30 minutes with ease. It seems like such a good exercise to release those negatives by seeing the positive impact they had on how I have been able to survive and move forward.
And what about the business today?
I just finished reading some more interesting facts. It was an analogy to a lunch line – the line seems to be long and patience is often hard to come by. If you keep jumping lines you may end up farther back and eating later than if you had stayed in the first line. Patience is sometimes difficult when you are trying to build a business. I know that for most of my life I have dabbled in everything but never really successful to the end because I lose interest if I am not making profits quickly. This has probably been my biggest downfall so far. I need to focus on the business and then add to the core of that business for a long period of time.
I am realizing that I have not added many people to my organization at this point in time and that I will need to start a fresh to connect with others. I will return to my original list of people and actually pick up the phone or visit them. It is the personal contact that will help (according to my mentor). Today I am putting together a plan for using social networking sites. You will see links to other media now on this blog.
